If you missed Sha'Carri Richardson run the 100-meter dash this weekend, don't feel bad. She ran by so quickly that it made it hard for a number of people to see her compete. With a blazing time of 10.86 seconds, Richards sped by the competition and even had enough time to point to the finish line as she cruised to first place honors. Immediately after finishing first in the U.S. Olympic Trials, she ran into the stands to hug her grandmother.

"I'm highly grateful for them. Without them, there would be no me. Without my grandmother, there would be no Sha'Carri Richardson. My family is my everything, my everything until the day I'm done," she said during her post-race interview.

Richardson ran at the U.S. Olympic Trials with a heavy heart. Her biological mother died just days before this milestone moment in her life. While her mother was not there in person, she was surely there in spirit.

"I'm still here. Last week, finding out my biological mother passed away and still choosing to pursue my dreams, still coming out here, still here to make the family that I do still have on this earth proud," Richardson explained.

"And the fact [is] nobody knows what I go through. Everybody has struggles and I understand that, but y'all see me on this track and y'all see the poker face I put on, but nobody but them and my coach know what I go through on a day-to-day basis."

Richardson will travel to Tokyo for the 2021 Summer Olympic Games next month. While there, she will be joined by fellow American sprinters, Javianne Oliver and Teahna Daniels. Oliver finished right behind Richardson with a 100-meter time of 10.86 seconds. Daniels rounded out the top three with a 100-meter time of 10.99 seconds.
