A Black father is being praised for his response to a white adult who was caught on video putting his hand on his son during a youth basketball game.
Video of the incident shows two young players on opposing teams getting into a brief confrontation in an auditorium-style gym. The white child's mother urged her son to "calm down" as a Black child appeared to push the boy into the wall.
The altercation ended with the children going their separate ways. However, moments later, a white man appeared to run onto the court and approach the Black child. The man proceeded to physically grab the Black boy after he was already separated from the white child.
The Black child's father responded by running onto the court and tackling the white man who grabbed his son, slamming him to the floor. The video ended with one bystander escorting the father away from the court.
Many social media users praised the Black father for his quick response to another adult touching his child.
“He assaulted that minor and thought he was safe to do so. And the law of karma is you get what you give out. He simply got it back in adult form," one commenter said.
“Only thing nuts about this was the adult putting his hands on a child. Everything else… makes sense to me!” another social media user wrote.
“Hard lesson to learn. When a fight breaks out, grab your kid — not someone else’s. It can end up being bad for you," a third person added.
